Sophia Swettanham

ACTOR

Sophia’s (she/her) passion for theatre is rooted in her love of story-telling. She is especially drawn to intense and intelligent characters – whether comedic or tragic – who exhibit a healthy dose of erraticism. Sophia loves exploring extremes of love, desire, grief, or pain. With a particular interest in classical work, Sophia loves exploring and interpreting both older texts and new works to consider and re-examine timeless themes. In addition to acting, Sophia enjoys playwriting, and received a grant to adapt Elizabeth Smart’s By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept, which she hopes to one day produce. The human experience is rich and exciting, and Sophia hopes to always make theatre that entertains and challenges audiences to both reflect on and embrace it.
