ELIJAH WARRINGTON

LIGHTING/SOUND Designer

Elijah Warrington is a lighting and sound designer born and raised in New York City, holding a B.A. in Theater Design & Production from Fordham University. The experiences (whether in theatre, film, music, or elsewhere) that inspire him the most are those that leave the audience with a sense of wonder, and his work in theatre strives to cultivate that feeling through careful use of rhythm and motion.

Elijah’s work is vibrant, colorful, and kinetic, but always intentional and carefully planned. Forever playful, he strives to bring an expressive and explosive energy to every project he takes on—both in his own area of design, and through enthusiastic collaboration with his fellow artists. Collaboration is at the core of any theatrical project, and Elijah aims for a close integration between different avenues of design.

Though lighting and sound are his areas of specialty, Elijah’s roles have at times included video and projections designer, playwright, composer, graphic designer and live musician—all born from a desire to try new things and explore new avenues of storytelling. Last year’s highlights included composing and producing a pirate-themed score for the new play-with-music Orange Sky at Night and designing the new play ZAGŁADA at the American Theatre of Actors. This February, see his lighting design in the world premiere of José Rivera’s A Lunar Rhapsody at Fordham University!
