Cora Therber

DIRECTOR

Cora Therber is a North Carolina-raised, NYC-educated, and soon-to-be-Maine-based theatre artist, director, and collaborator. Cora’s art combines bold aesthetics with the delicacy of humanity. Their lived experiences in the South and Midwest encourage them to create art that focuses on often de-glamorized livelihoods. They believe in collaboration and community-focused work, with an ever-growing appreciation for devised theatre. Their experiences as a nonbinary artist allow them to create theater that lives outside of traditional perspectives.

Cora’s time in the theater has included directing original plays, devising original narrative pieces, and writing and directing Greek adaptations. They’ve designed sets, props, and analog projections. Cora’s other creative focuses include analog film animation, collage, and linocut prints. Cora is a proud alum of the 24 Hour Plays: Nationals and JACK Labs.

After graduation, they hope to move to Portland, Maine to live near the ocean, eat saltwater taffy, and learn more about community-based artmaking. However, New York is always in their heart and they’re always happy to crash on a friend’s couch for a project. Cora also hopes to get a dog. And paint all their walls pink. And acquire more vintage glassware.
